I mentioned in my review previously of Thunder that I had a little trepidation with going stainless after enjoying the excellent weight of tungsten carbide. Well, needless to say, I loved Thunder enough to buy his younger brother. Tempest continues to carry the torch in terms of quality and beauty. As my seventh King Ring… I knew what to expect when it comes to jewelry quality adornment for my manhood, so jumped at the opportunity of sporting this fresh new design.
As is to be expected from King Rings, the Thunder is an impeccable example of jewelery quality, brilliant design, and eye catching good looks. This is now my sixth ring and, as mentioned in other reviews, I can certainly say that the switch from tungsten carbide to stainless steel has left nothing to be desired. The sharp design, thick heft, and many reflective facets catch lots of light – giving a dazzling presentation to your manhood.
As a crafty individual, I’m able to bring my hobbies to bear while customizing or creating entirely new adornments. In this case, I spent an afternoon modelling the ideal shaft ring and parameterizing the model (OpenSCAD) to support customization and adjustments. After a few prototypes, the perfect shaft ring was born precisely to the dimensions and style I wanted.
The design of this adornment features a slightly flared base and gently radiused inner profile for supreme comfort. The wide profile allows a rock solid erection to fill it out, without undue pressure on your shaft.
There’s no doubt Ballistic Metal is one my favorite manufacturers to begin with, but to offer the ability to build a custom triple ring setup just seals the deal. After all, I absolutely adore cock and shaft combos.

As a lover of fine adornments and a collector always seeking something new and unique, I find browsing Etsy for artisans willing to do custom work sometimes yields great results. Such was the case working with Tyler at GrownRings. I reached out via Etsy messenger explaining roughly what I was looking to do and he was happy to dive in and build a ring much larger than his typical commission. This was an exciting process because GrownRings uses a “spiral grain” method that sets them apart typical wound rings made from many layers of veneer.
As always, Scott at King Rings hit it out of the part with the now-discontinued Savage Rose. This weighty tungsten carbide adornment is plated with 14k gold, inlaid with natural wood and accented with stainless.
As with most rings of weight and jewelery quality polish, this ine wantsbto slide a bit so consider ordering a size down for all day wear.
Why did it take so long for the industry to realize that putting a simple curve on a thicker wire ring makes for an outlandishly comfortable adornment? That’s all it takes, though - putting a modest bend in the .34" thick ring really helps it adhere to your contours and amplifies the comfort factor by preventing the ring from sliding and just plain feeling more fitted.
With many generic manufacturers offering these at low prices, this is a must-add to your collection!
Everything you would ever want in a shaft ring, Ballistic Metal has delivered a nearly perfect example. This ring provides the exact diameter for a veiny display and a thick width that prevents digging into your shaft while so engorged.
The brushed finish is a nice way to wrap the ring, though those preferring more “flash” may be left wanting for something polished or anodized (guess what? They have red and blue anodized available, too). Elsewhere in the lineup, Ballistic Metal avails rings in GRIPZ or with accent bands, though I prefer no inlays for my head or shaft rings so they’re insertable into your favorite orifice without harming comfort or making cleanup a pain in the ass.
Primal Rings bills their Energy ring as the most comfortable cock ring on the market. They aren’t far off thanks to clever design facets such as the curved profile and tapered circumference. The curves allow for a close fit while the taper gives plenty of room around the cock and tapers to a smaller width around the balls - which can help a lot while sitting depending on your anatoy.
Another brute from Gear Essentials, the Torque ring features their tried and true inner radius for a truly comfortable fit. Cut from solid stainless steel, the ring exudes an industrial and manly confidence thanks to its slightly brushed finish. Beholding the ring while encircling your manhood, the observer would be forgiven for thinking nothing more than “fuck machine”. The raised edges cut with a rounded landing around the full circumference is a fitting mascot for Gear Essentials.
