OK… so I literally have hundreds of rings. I am always on the prowl looking for something new or unique to try, so I’m sure you could imagine my delight when I discovered Night Seeds during conversation over on r/CockRingTalk. These adornments promise a bit of a different experience with their cotton candy-like color and firm “U” shape. Of course I had to try them out!
I was immediately thrown off while shopping when I realized that there are no “sizes” of these rings. Eschewing traditional sizes, Night Seeds has opted to make their ring in a variety of firmness for optimal fitment. They recommend the flex for >14.1cm circumference, the firm for 12.1 to 14.1cm, and the hard for <12.1cm. This translates into diameters of 44.8mm (~1.75") and 38.5mm (~1.5") for cutoffs. This straddles the sizes we’ve come to be used to when shopping for cock rings or shaft rings, so one would think that it’s possible to wear one as a cock ring. Nope - there’s no way in hell. As the owner of a decidedly average package, there’s no way testicles and penis are fitting through even the most flexible offering without inviting real danger. Indeed, if you pay close attention to their site, while they never say it is a shaft ring, they do show a few images of expected diameters in both metric and imperial units that are reasonable for a penis shaft. So anyhow, it’s a shaft ring… in case you’re confused!
What I find most striking about these shaft rings is the internal design. They feature a rigid “spine” that ensures the bottom of the ring does not deform while allowing the top half to flex/stretch around your shaft. This is stated on the site to “minimize pressure on the corpus spongiosum and urethra”, which is interesting to me given that some men have reported a noticeable weakening of their ejaculations while wearing a cock ring. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) my ejaculate isn’t particularly powerful such that I’ve ever noticed a difference while wearing an adornment, but perhaps this is a great solution for men that do notice a difference enough to dislike wearing an adornment.
These rings are made of “food grade” silicone which will ensure germs won’t find a home in the material itself. The rings are about 9mm (.35") in width and are given a semi-transparent color. Depending on which firmness you’ve selected, you are treated to a blue, yellow, or red semi-transparent adornment. Personally, I find these colors decidedly feminine or childlike. This is totally fine if that is your vibe, but for me, I gravitate towards the more stately and masculine colors (polished metal any day). I can’t quite put a finger on it, but the semi-transparent coloring also invokes in my mind that there is something cheap or low-end about the ring. This is unfortunate because the material and thickness feels first-class in the hand. The walls of the rings are made of substantial thickness such that I have no worries that many repeated uses will result in damage to the adornment itself.
With all that, one may wonder, “How does it feel?” To me, it feels like any old silicone shaft ring. That’s not a bad thing, of course, but I wondered in my head if the obvious forethought and design thinking that went into the product would result in a measurably different experience. I found nothing lacking with the experience, but I also felt nothing special while wearing it. If anything, it felt a bit unnerving given the physical dimensions of even the flexible ring. It’s just… tight. I hate to say it so bluntly, but to me, this is just another shaft ring - and one that comes in colors I don’t especially like. Still yet, these aren’t very expensive. If you are frustrated by the constriction of a typical shaft ring that leads to a weaker ejaculation, give this one a shot! If that is not a concern, I’d suggest you could easily find the same experience with any other shaft ring.
