The Esculpta brand has been around for many years. Touted as an ultimate luxury in cock rings, they started their journey in the adornment space by offering a unique rubber tube-based design flanked with jewelry-style ends. Their asking price was always a bit high, and I found that I could get a similar design by modifying bracelets available cheaply on ebay example1 example1 example2 with the benefit of being a bit more my style. Since then, Esculpta has bounced into the “ergonomic” market by offering the uniquely shaped Muse series of stacked rings. Well then… that’s new! I forgot all about them for a long while but had some time to browse adornments lately so I snatched a set up once I saw that they were buy-two-get-one free.
Because I know my size very well, and because I know that ergonomic rings and wide rings fit differently, I decided to get both a “large” and a “medium” stack. This review covers the large Tri-Band stack which features rose gold, yellow gold, and silver rings in a 2" nominal size. I picked this set up for “general purpose” wear. The design of these rings is ergonomic which usually means that I can go down a half to a full size, but since this stack is nearly an inch wide when wearing all three rings, this somewhat cancels out added space. In other words, the 2" large size fits pretty true to a 2" standard ring.
The design is interesting. This take on the ergonomic curved design features a deeper inward curve that is intended to be worn on the top of your manhood (of course, it’s your manhood, so wear it how you want). This is noticeably different from typical “ergo” rings that are basically a standard ring with a modest bend across the full width of the ring. This means that the curve is more visually noticeable, which I think adds a nice touch and a bit more of a dynamic look. It’s not especially dramatic, but you can tell some thought went into the design to make it more eye catching. At the same time, if you wear the curve on the bottom (upside down), you wouldn’t notice a difference when looking front-on - it looks like a standard cock ring stack.
I do have to say that the two gold tones flanking a silver tone is alluring. There’s something about contrasting metal in an adornment that really draws my eye. It’s difficult to tell for sure, but I believe these rings are made of steel with each weighing about 1.75oz. Stacked together they add up to about 5.13 ounces. The ring itself is a little thin at .268 but this is less noticeable given the massive .939" stack height. I wouldn’t invest in this kit if you don’t plan to stack them - that’s what they’re made for after all. In terms of colors and designs, I’m very happy with the purchase. The Esculpta name is also embossed on the inside of each ring for a finishing touch that confirms this is their exclusive design.
Unfortunately, there are some quality concerns to call out. These adornments were shipped from Europe to me in the US and the packaging allowed them to rattle around in the handsome holder box. I can’t tell if an ocean worth of bouncing around and transport damage is the root cause or if the finish on these rings is just sub-par… but I can say that these do not come anywhere near the finish quality I would expect at the price point. In fact, one of the silver rings in the second set have visible blemishes that appeared to be the surface treatment flaking off! I have several cheap adornments from China that have a better finish - ranging from steel to aluminum and everything in between. There is also some poor fitment between the rings themselves. I tried shuffling the order a bit, but the rings only fit neatly together if I wear the rose gold closer to my body followed by the silver and yellow gold rings. For my personal preference, I would like the rose gold to have been the front-facing color, but the contours of the silver ring don’t mesh well with the contours of the rose gold ring. It’s difficult to explain, but they just don’t “mesh” well except for one way. Perhaps this is because they are obviously different batches (different colors), but again, at this price point, I expect a more meticulous execution.
So where does that leave us? Well… I think they’re a fine addition to the collection. I find the yellow gold/silver/rose gold trio to be gorgeous. For my second item free, I picked up a stacking set of just silver on the chance that I’d like to stack silver, rose gold, silver, yellow gold, then silver again. That’s a lot of metal to adorn with, but that is part of the fun of this design - you can make it your own. Unfortunately, a few execution issues in terms of quality and consistency means that these rings will forever be in my “fine” list - but never a favorite.
